Guys, the new NBA 2K20 is absolutely worth it! You can buy right now the game and play it (even if it will be released officially in a few weeks). You will be amazed of the improvements to the game engine and AI.

Remember the stupid one-player dribbling and shoot style of game / strategy that many players use it? Well… now it is a little more difficult to play like this. The AI is better and will not allow easily the dribbling and score, you will have to play more organic, more passing, employ basketball schemes… which it is really amazing!

We have historic teams and players, we have all-time teams and all-decade… now the historic teams range from 1950 up to 2010… there are 68 historic teams.

The AI learned to play defense better. There is a way to play against the most valuable player of the opposing team and a way to protect the perimeter, called “wall up” and “protect the perimeter”.

When you attack, the AI got a new featured called “dynamic freelance engine” that moves the teammates on the field so you can play a passing game and more organic without actually calling a play. This way it is much easier to play and everything is more intuitive.

Of course, it’s worth getting started. For every sports game enthusiast, NBA 2K20 is a very good game, and compared with the previous generation of NBA 2K19, NBA 2K20 has got better improvements.

Due to the improvement of technology, it is foreseeable that NBA 2K20 is much better in graphics performance, more realistic, and more expressive, allowing players to obtain a better experience.

Is NBA 2K20 Better than 2k19?

I think so. Well, to be honest, I only play MyTeam.

NBA 2K20 has made better improvements for me for MyTeam. 2K19 version was fun to play but also too easy on levels rookie to all star and the game was pretty difficult for the levels above. There was no middle ground. NBA 2K20 improved on the skill levels. Now when I play on all-star difficulty, the game is much more closer than blowouts all the time. Close games make the game fun. In general, the cpu was lacking in 2K19 but seem to be smarter and better in 2K20.

I hate losing as much as anyone but to win with blowouts every game was lacking my interests. Thankfully NBA 2K20 was able to tweak and fix the things I was frustrated with. Now it even feels okay to lose games now that I know I have to play smarter and invest my time every quarter, unlike NBA 2K19 when I was getting steals and chucking up threes every 12 seconds.

NBA 2K20 also improved on MyTeam rewards system. It was less rewarding to play MyTeam than to play MyCareer until now. 2K20 awards players even more than before which makes the game mode more valuable. I am constantly playing triple threat mode today when I was not playing this mode at all on 2K19.

MyTeam also came out with evolution cards now to keep the bored busy with objectives. It was something I always wanted in MyGM but so much more happy that it’s in MyTeam. Who doesn’t like watching their players grow into stars?

I never used my own money to buy packs. Heck I never really used to get packs with virtual currency either but this year, it’s almost like you don’t even need to look at those packs anymore. With so much to do and so many player rewards, it’s fulfilling to use the cards you earn and improve. Somewhere down the line, you will have enough MT to buy a player of your choice from the Auction House if you wish.

One thing I do not like, however, is the position cap. Player cards are now locked in to their primary and secondary positions. I started out MyTeam with the Dirk Nowitzki evolution pack but was let down when I could only use him at the power forward spot. Players like Dwyane Wade cannot be substituted at the point guard position because the game recognizes him as a shooting guard. Players with secondary positions can be slotted into their secondary positions. These limitations make it difficult to create a unique game plan/lineup, which was the whole point of MyTeam but I guess I can get used to it for now.
